Event: Wednesday January 11th from 6-8pm // So we can plan accordingly, registration for this event ends Monday the 9th!!
We are so excited and honored to be partnering with Freedom Summit Adventures to bring you an evening of raising money for a wonderful organization! Did you know January is human trafficking awareness month? Let’s do what we can to help stop this horrible injustice!
The evening will include drinks and light snacks. You’ll also get to make your own small succulent arrangement as a thank you for your donation. $40 of each $50 ticket price will go right to Freedom Summit Adventures! In addition, we will be hearing from Brittney Jacobson, founder of Freedom Summit Adventures on her organization. Here’s a little bit about FSA:
Freedom Summit Adventures is focused on whole-body health and wellness through outdoor education for survivors of sexual assault and/or human trafficking.
We summit mountains (and host kayaking excursions) with survivors over the course of a weekend, as the physical representation of the emotional “mountains” they’ve been climbing throughout their healing journeys, while creating lifelong friendships cultivated in the outdoors. At our retreats, we also provide many other trauma-informed coping mechanisms, including nutrition education, art therapy, job preparedness courses, and micro loans for survivors hoping to start their own businesses or go back to school.
We know that what they’ve accomplished through graduating from a safe house program is hard work, and we want to celebrate that. The outdoors can be such a healing tool when it comes to trauma recovery, and we’ve seen firsthand how simply getting outside, while doing something hard yet rewarding, can drastically change one’s mood. Our hope is that our clients feel confident in the backcountry and return to the outdoors when they need a break, or a breath of fresh air.
Will you join us in this worthy cause?
